Poker Bankroll Software Programs

Poker bankroll software can help you with the tedious but important tasks of bookkeeping and bankroll management. If you play a lot of poker, look into some of the bankroll software programs available.

There is more to a bankroll than just the amount of money you have. Knowing what limits you can play with the amount of money you have is important. And it's also important to know how much you've won or lost, what expenses you have, what games are most profitable for you at what limits.

Understanding this data can help you capitalize on the areas where you're making the most money. At the same time you can minimize situations where you're losing the most money.

Bankroll Management SoftwareThere aren't nearly as many poker bankroll management software programs as there are poker trackers, outs calculators, or odds calculators. But the few poker bankroll software programs that are available are excellent, cheap, or free. And they'll  exceed the needs of most poker players.

Poker Bankroll Management Software

Poker Evolver

The software from Poker Evolver is an all around program. Players who purchase this software have access to a HUD similar to the HUD from Hold'em Manager or Poker Tracker. And from the information that this heads up display collects, players can view their hand histories, view graphs of their progress, and/or analyze how their opponent's play.

This is all in addition to the bankroll aspect of their software. Players are able to have several 'bankroll accounts,' with each one designated to a certain room or venue. Players can keep track of how much money they play with and how much money they win or lose in each session. All of the sessions add up to something that looks similar to a paystub, where players can view their overall bankroll, earnings, win rate, sessions played, how long they play on average, and their ROI.

Poker Evolver's download is only available for Windows operating systems and costs $69 to purchase.

Poker Charts

Poker Charts is the best bankroll software we found. It's a completely no-download solution, too--it's all online. Players go to Poker Charts' website, log in, input their session info, view their bankroll and other stats including hourly rate, BB/Hr and ROI. Players can also add in various expenses (maybe live game travel expenses) which are deducted from a player's overall earnings.

Another great aspect of their software is how user-friendly it is. Anyone can figure out how to navigate and operate Poker Charts' program. We also enjoy their extensive filter, which allows you to filter out the games, stakes, venues, and/or opponents.

Poker Chart's set-up is similar to Poker Evolver, but it's all online and requires no download. They offer a free 30 day trial too.

Poker Dominator

Poker Dominator is a free, no-download bankroll program that resembles Poker Evolver and Poker Charts. Players can view their total earnings, win rate, how many sessions they've played and for how long, their ROI, and how much they have bought in for and cashed out. All of these stats can be viewed according to category such as daily, monthly or best/worst session. Several different graphs can also be made such as total earnings, win rate per session and in the money/ROI percentages.

The bankroll aspect of Poker Dominator's software allows players to set up several different beginning balances depending on how many sites or venues in which a player might play. Once players start to log some sessions, they can then check out their ledgers, which have records of the buy-in and cash-out for every game played.

FlopTurnRiver

A member at the forum of FlopTurnRiver has made a handy and free bankroll tracker Excel sheet. Several rooms are listed and there are columns to add amount deposited, amount withdrawn and bonuses earned next to each room. All the math is done for you telling how much money you have on each room, the total amount that you have deposited/cashed out and your overall bankroll for every room.

On the same sheet are 3 different pie graphs outlining how much you play at each site, how often you play a specific game (cash, tourney, sng) and a percentage of how much of your overall earnings came from a specific game.

There are a few other neat features to this spreadsheet. I liked the grid where it outlined several different stakes and the amount of money players should have before moving up.

Also, there are 3 other spreadsheets covering sit n go's, cash games and an overall summary outlining how much a player has won overall, their hourly win-rate, BB/Hr, average hourly and a ton more. Accompanied by the list of sessions on each sheet are line graphs so you can view your progress or lack thereof.

Excel Spreadsheets

If don't want to take advantage of any of the bankroll management software outlined above, you can always make your own. It's just a matter of knowing how to use Excel or willing to play with Excel for a couple hours to figure it out. Structure the spreadsheet so you have all the rooms you play at on the left, the money that is deposited or withdrawn on top and totals for each on the right and bottom of the page respectively.

We expand on this subject in this article: Poker Bankroll Spreadsheets.
